Woman threatened with firearm in Harlow

Detectives are appealing for information after a burglary in Harlow, in which a group of men burst into a house and threatened a woman with a firearm.

Four men broke in to a property on Old Road and pushed a handgun to the woman’s face before stealing cash and jewellery between 10 and 11pm on Monday, July 8, 2013.

The suspects ran away from the house. Three of the four men were wearing balaclavas while the fourth, was wearing a blue top.

Investigating Officer, Dc Ryan Burgess, said: “We’re confident that people living on Old Road near to its junction with Bury Road would have seen and heard a commotion at 11pm on Monday night. We would urge them to contact us so that we can identify these men while also allaying this woman’s fears for her safety.”

A search of the area was carried out by armed officers and the police helicopter but the men could not be found.
Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact detectives at Harlow police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
